US CENTCOM: Raid Eliminates Senior ISIS Leader And Sons In Syria

Dhiya’ Zawba Muslih al-Hardani and Two ISIS-Affiliated Sons Killed in Al Bab Operation

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted a successful raid early this morning in al Bab, Aleppo Governorate, Syria, resulting in the death of senior ISIS leader Dhiya’ Zawba Muslih al-Hardani and his two adult ISIS-affiliated sons, Abdallah Dhiya al-Hardani and Abd al-Rahman Dhiya Zawba al-Hardani.

According to CENTCOM, these individuals posed a significant threat to U.S. and Coalition Forces, as well as to the new Syrian Government.

Three women and three children also present at the target location were reported unharmed during the operation.

General Michael Erik Kurilla, U.S. Central Command Commander, affirmed the ongoing commitment to counter-terrorism efforts.

“We will continue to relentlessly pursue ISIS terrorists wherever they are. ISIS terrorists are not safe where they sleep, where they operate, and where they hide,” said Gen. Kurilla. “Alongside our partners and allies, U.S. Central Command is committed to the enduring defeat of ISIS terrorists that threaten the region, our allies, and our homeland.”

The raid underscores CENTCOM’s continued focus on degrading ISIS capabilities and neutralizing leadership that seeks to destabilize the region and pose a threat to international security.
