New Virginia Facility To Power ‘AI Revolution’ And Bolster U.S. Energy Dominance

Trump Administration’s AI Agenda Fuels $1B Hitachi Energy Investment

In a major boost to U.S. critical infrastructure and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, Hitachi Energy has announced a $1 billion investment in the United States.

This financial commitment includes a $457 million investment toward a new large power transformer facility in Virginia, a move expected to create thousands of new jobs.

The investment comes as a direct response to the White House AI Action Plan, a strategy under the Trump Administration aimed at establishing the U.S. as a global leader in AI.

Hitachi Energy specifically cited the plan as the catalyst for its decision. The new facility will play a critical role in strengthening the nation’s electrical grid, which is essential for supporting the immense energy demands of the burgeoning AI industry.

This aligns with President Donald J. Trump’s “energy dominance agenda,” which seeks to fortify domestic supply chains and meet growing energy needs.

This latest announcement follows a recent showcase by President Trump earlier this year, where $92 billion in commitments from leading energy and technology companies were pledged to build cutting-edge AI and energy infrastructure in Pennsylvania.

This pattern of investment highlights a broader trend under the Trump Administration’s “America First” trade policy, which has seen companies accelerating efforts to onshore production and expand manufacturing operations within the United States.
