JFK Report Shocker: Florida Rep. Luna Receives Secret Assassination Files—Straight From Russia

In a move that has political observers reeling, Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) announced Wednesday that she has received a controversial, unreleased report on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy—hand-delivered by the Ambassador of Russia.

The sensational news immediately overshadowed other political dramas, including the stalled efforts to release the Jeffrey Epstein files, as the staunch Donald Trump ally took to social media platform X to reveal the acquisition.

“I have received a hard copy of the report on JFK’s assassination from the Ambassador of Russia,” Luna, who chairs the House Oversight Committee’s Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, wrote excitedly. She added that a team of experts would be reviewing and translating the documents, which she called “of massive historical significance,” for public upload “as soon as we can.”

The Russian Embassy in Washington confirmed the exchange, stating the documents—described as a “pre-copy of a collection of archived documents” compiled from declassified Soviet sources—were delivered to Luna’s office “upon her request.”

Luna’s office, in a statement to media, confirmed the Congresswoman “met directly with the Russian ambassador to request the documents,” which her team says have been sought after by historians for decades.

Inez Stepman, a conservative activist, skewered the move on X, calling Luna’s request for the Soviet-era report “the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen a member of Congress do.”

New Life for an Old Mystery

The 350-page document, which Luna’s office had previously announced would detail the Russian government’s “findings on who assassinated JFK,” re-injects a foreign element into the decades-old mystery.

The official conclusion of the Warren Commission and subsequent investigations is that U.S. Marine Corps veteran Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the 1963 killing.

While the U.S. government has released the vast majority of its own classified JFK files, Luna’s task force continues its work to declassify outstanding documents, driven by a belief that the “official narrative may have been incomplete at best, and at worst, deliberately obscured.”

Whether the newly acquired Russian files contain genuine historical revelations or merely old propaganda remains to be seen, but the spectacle of a U.S. Congresswoman receiving classified-level documents from a Russian diplomat has ensured the JFK mystery remains firmly in the political spotlight.
