Trump Orders Second Strike On Venezuelan Drug Cartels: “We Are Hunting You”

The President expands action with a new kinetic strike

Ongoing military actions in the Caribbean expanded today, following the President’s announcement of a second kinetic strike against what he identified as “extraordinarily violent drug trafficking cartels and narcoterrorists” from Venezuela.

The strike, which occurred in international waters, resulted in the death of three individuals, according to a statement from President Trump on Truth Social.

In his post, President Trump declared, “This morning, on my Orders, U.S. Military Forces conducted a SECOND Kinetic Strike against positively identified, extraordinarily violent drug trafficking cartels and narcoterrorists in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility.” He further warned, “IF YOU ARE TRANSPORTING DRUGS THAT CAN KILL AMERICANS, WE ARE HUNTING YOU!”

HALT Fentanyl Act

The news comes as Senator Moody recently celebrated the passage of the HALT Fentanyl Act, a critical new law she co-sponsored. The legislation increases penalties for trafficking fentanyl-related substances, with offenses involving over 100 grams now carrying a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years.

During a news conference with Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz and Sara Carter, the nominee for Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Senator Moody hailed the President’s actions as a strong step toward combating narcotrafficking. She stated, “This week, we’ve seen President Trump once again take bold action… Together, these actions send a clear message: America’s days of turning a blind eye to drug trafficking are over.”

Sheriff Cordero-Stutz also praised the new law, noting it provides a “critical tool to help hold traffickers accountable and save lives.”

Senator Moody has been a long-time advocate for aggressive measures to stop the flow of illicit fentanyl, previously calling for it to be classified as a weapon of mass destruction and for Mexican drug cartels to be designated as terrorist organizations. Her past initiatives include the creation of Dose of Reality Florida, an educational campaign on the dangers of opioid use, and the Helping Heroes program, which provides free naloxone to law enforcement and first responders.
