Trump Media And Crypto.com Form Strategic Partnership, Integrating CRO Cryptocurrency
Trump Media Platforms to Adopt CRO for Rewards System and Payments
In a significant move into the digital asset space, Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. (DJT) has announced a strategic partnership with Crypto.com, a leading cryptocurrency platform. The collaboration will see the Cronos (CRO) cryptocurrency and Crypto.com’s digital wallet infrastructure integrated into Trump Media’s platforms, including its social media site Truth Social and its streaming service Truth+.
According to a mutual cooperation agreement, Trump Media will introduce a new rewards system that uses the Crypto.com digital wallet. Users on Truth Social and Truth+ will be able to convert “gems,” earned from platform activities, into CRO. This initiative positions CRO as the primary utility token within Trump Media’s digital ecosystem.
The partnership also outlines several future integrations, including the ability for Truth Social and Truth+ users to pay for subscriptions and services using their Crypto.com CRO balance. Additionally, the companies plan to offer free or discounted Truth+ subscriptions to users who open a new Crypto.com account. Both companies will also co-market the Truth+ platform and the Crypto.com wallet.
The deal includes a significant financial component. As part of a separate purchase agreement, Trump Media will buy approximately $105 million in CRO, while Crypto.com will purchase $50 million in Trump Media common stock. Trump Media plans to secure its new CRO holdings with Crypto.com Custody services and will stake the assets to generate additional revenue.
In a statement, Trump Media CEO Devin Nunes expressed his belief that this partnership will help make CRO “the utility token of choice around the globe.” He praised Crypto.com and the Cronos network for their transparency and regulatory compliance, stating that the move positions Trump Media as an “early adopter of this best-in-class digital network.”
Crypto.com Co-Founder and CEO Kris Marszalek called the integration a “historic moment for the Cronos blockchain,” highlighting the partnership as a testament to the community dedicated to expanding access to crypto.
The move follows Trump Media’s recent announcement of a new entity, Trump Media Group CRO Strategy, Inc., a digital asset treasury company focused on acquiring CRO. This strategic partnership signals a deeper commitment by Trump Media to the cryptocurrency market and its growing role in digital commerce.
