Giuliani And Powell Among 77 Trump Pardoned Who Were Tied To 2020 Election Plot
President Donald J. Trump has granted “full, complete and unconditional” pardons to 77 individuals connected to a plot to overturn the 2020 presidential election, the Justice Department announced late Sunday.
The list includes several high-profile close allies of the President who faced charges related to the “fake electors” scheme, such as former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, attorney Sidney Powell, and constitutional lawyer Kenneth Chesebro.
The comprehensive list of those pardoned was released on X by President Trump’s “clemency czar,” attorney Ed Martin, just before 11 p.m. ET. Martin shared the document as a direct reply to his May 26, 2025, post that vowed, “No MAGA left behind.”
The pardons cover dozens of prominent figures and 2020 campaign aides allegedly entangled in the scheme, which involved organizing and submitting alternate, illegitimate slates of electors from battleground states won by former Vice President Joe Biden—specifically Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
In addition to Giuliani, Powell, and Chesebro, the proclamation grants clemency to:
- Mark Meadows, former White House Chief of Staff.
- John Eastman, legal advisor.
- Christina Bobb, campaign aide.
- Boris Epshtey, Trump adviser.
“This proclamation ends a grave national injustice perpetrated upon the American people following the 2020 Presidential Election and continues the process of national reconciliation,” the document states.
The pardons, however, do not extend to the President himself. A line near the end of the proclamation explicitly reads: “This pardon does not apply to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.”
