Today, FOX News Media announced that a settlement was reached in the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit.

In making the announcement, the network said, “We are pleased to have reached a settlement of our dispute with Dominion Voting Systems. We acknowledge the Court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false. This settlement reflects FOX’s continued commitment to the highest journalistic standards. We are hopeful that our decision to resolve this dispute with Dominion amicably, instead of the acrimony of a divisive trial, allows the country to move forward from these issues.”

In February 2021, Dominion filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News, alleging that the network had defamed the company by airing false and defamatory claims about its voting machines. The lawsuit sought $1.6 billion in damages.

The parties settled for $787,500,000 — about half of Dominion’s original $1.6 billion ask.

Dominion CEO John Poulos told reporters, “Fox has admitted to telling lies about Dominion that caused enormous damage to my company, our employees and the customers that we serve.

Nothing can ever make up for that. Throughout this process, we have sought accountability,” he said. “Truthful reporting in the media is essential to our democracy.”

Currently, the number one network in all of cable, FNC has also been the most-watched television news channel for more than 21 consecutive years, while FBN ranks among the top business channels on cable.

Owned by Fox Corporation, FOX News Media reaches nearly 200 million people each month.
