FORMER CIA OFFICER: THE WAR JUST CHANGED
Former CIA agent John Kiriakou says the fight against the drug cartels has entered a completely new phase.
His warning is clear:
When cartels were designated as terrorist organizations, it didn’t just change rhetoric — it unlocked intelligence, military, and counter-terror capabilities across U.S. agencies.
In other words:
The battlefield expanded.
Now, after a major cartel leader was eliminated with reported intelligence support, retaliation violence is already escalating.
Kiriakou says if Americans are directly threatened or harmed, U.S. involvement would likely increase further.
This is no longer just a “war on drugs.”
It’s being treated like a national security conflict.
And that changes everything.
