Florida Rep. Donalds Rips California Gov. Newsom Over License Policy After Deadly Crash

Florida Congressman Blasts California Governor

Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) appeared on Fox Business Network’s Mornings with Maria to discuss a range of pressing issues, including a fatal accident in Florida involving a driver with a California license, the ongoing debate over congressional redistricting, and what he calls the “weaponization” of U.S. intelligence agencies.

During the interview, Rep. Donalds took aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom’s administration for issuing a commercial driver’s license (CDL) to an undocumented immigrant who was later involved in a car crash in Florida that killed three people.

Donalds argued that Newsom should be more concerned with his state’s policies than with the redistricting efforts in Texas.

The congressman stated, “What Gavin Newsom should be more worried about is making sure he’s not giving CDL licenses to illegal aliens who are killing in Florida.”

The conversation also touched on the contentious issue of redistricting, with Donalds defending Texas’s new maps while criticizing California’s, which he called “some of the most gerrymandered across the United States.”

He contended that Democrats are fighting to count non-citizens for the purpose of drawing congressional districts, a practice he believes is a core issue in the political debate over power.

Rep. Donalds also addressed the controversy surrounding the alleged abuse of the intelligence community against political opponents.

He referenced a scheme he attributed to Hillary Clinton, claiming it was used to spy on then-candidate Donald Trump. Donalds called the intelligence community’s actions “un-American” and said they were “way bigger than Watergate.”

He concluded by calling for accountability, noting that the revocation of security clearances for those involved is a “first step” in achieving justice.
