Yet another train carrying hazardous material caught fire on Thursday.
Train cars in a Pacific Union train yard exploded, causing fumes and other chemical particulates to burn off into the area surrounding North Platte, Nebraska.
Journalist Nick Sortor provided more details on the toxic accident:
“Railcars Carrying Toxic Chemicals have Caught Fire and EXPLODED Releasing Hazardous Smoke into the Air Near North Platte, Nebraska
Authorities have ordered a four-mile evacuation zone around the explosion site.
Numerous hazmat teams are on-site, and emergency crews along with Union Pacific Railroad are still trying to understand what triggered the explosions, releasing HUGE amounts of highly toxic perchloric acid into the atmosphere.”
