Dems Going Commie? White House Press Sec Drops Bomb On Fox News
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed during a televised interview that “communist-style candidates” are rapidly becoming mainstream figures within the modern Democratic Party.
Speaking on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Leavitt characterized the shifting political landscape in Washington as a direct threat to foundational American principles.
“This is not your granddaddy’s Democratic Party,” Leavitt said. “This is not the Democratic Party of JFK. This is a full-blown communist revolution that is taking over Capitol Hill, right here in Washington, D.C. just a few steps away from where we are sitting right now.”
During the segment, Leavitt argued that rising left-wing candidates are actively opposing critical pillars of American society, specifically targeting law enforcement and the economy.
“The inmates are running the asylum,” Leavitt stated. “These are crazy people who are advocating against what I call the 3P’s — prison, police, and private property. They don’t want any of those things, and those are the ideals that founded this great country 250 years ago, but as President Trump says, communism is easy to sell, you just promise people free stuff until a few years you’re living in squalor with no free home, no free food.”
Leavitt alleged that top congressional Democrats, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, are altering their political strategies out of fear of progressive primary challengers. She specifically cited Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as an example of the party’s ideological shift, claiming Schumer “would get wiped out” in a primary matchup against her in New York.
To counter this political movement, Leavitt urged voters to support the Republican platform, framing the upcoming political choices as a definitive crossroad for the nation.
“The way that we stop this communist revolution in its tracks is for great Americans across the country who love America… to vote against this communist revolution, vote against the Democrats,” Leavitt said. “There is only one choice: It is President Trump. It’s the Republican Party, and it’s common sense. That’s what this is about: Communism versus common sense.”
Host Jesse Watters questioned how the administration would negotiate with lawmakers who “want zero Pentagon funding” and aim to disrupt traditional governance. Leavitt expressed doubt over whether cooperation is possible, invoking a warning from the past.
“I’m not sure you can, and I think that’s why the president is being so bold in warning the American public against this communist takeover of the Democrats,” Leavitt replied. “And as Ronald Reagan perfectly stated, freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. If these communists are given a chance at power here in Washington, D.C., if they retake the majority in Washington away from the Republicans, we will be heading down a communist takeover.”
The conversation also turned toward the motivations of younger voters and activists, with Watters asking if “laziness” or university professors were driving the political shift among Gen Z.
“It’s laziness and it’s the liberal indoctrination,” Leavitt responded, pointing to the current state of the education system. “However, I will say silver lining, so many parents that I talk to across the country are homeschooling, are turning to private education, are turning towards Christian schools across the country because they don’t want their children being taught these communist and liberal ideas slam down their throats.”
Leavitt concluded the segment by reiterating the White House’s support for school choice initiatives, emphasizing a desire for children to be taught to value the country. When Watters jokingly suggested sending misbehaving youths to the military, Leavitt added, “Or send them to Cuba or send to Iran, they will want to come back real quick.”
