Democratic Socialist Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is getting a BRUTAL REALITY check after laughing off the idea of millionaires fleeing her city — just as a new survey reveals that 44% of Washington business leaders are now considering moving their personal residences out of the state.
Mayor Katie Wilson: “I think the claims that millionaires are going to leave our state are like super overblown, and if the ones that leave — bye.”
NOTE: Washington state passed the Millionaires Tax in March 2026, that will impose a 9.9% tax on income over $1M per household that takes effect on January 1, 2028. It combines with the state’s new 9.9% capital gains tax on gains above $1M that went into effect last year.
