Congressman @TimBurchett is right — and he’s drawing a hard line.
Flock cameras are everywhere. 7,000 agencies. 49 states. A massive, always-on license plate surveillance network that tracks millions of Americans every single day.
Will Cain just asked the tough questions. Burchett didn’t dodge them.
Yes, they can catch criminals.
But they’re also being abused — and the “fixes” from Flock don’t fix the real problem.
A private company should not be the gatekeeper of a nationwide surveillance system.
The federal government sure as hell shouldn’t be funding it or expanding it.
Burchett’s bill cuts off all federal money for this technology. Because once Washington gets its hands on a tool this powerful, it never stays limited. We’ve already seen the abuses. Tracking people for personal reasons. Thousands of times.
Burchett’s solution is simple and constitutional:
More cops on the street.
Better judges.
Guardrails that actually mean something.
No federal dragnet. He’s not anti-law enforcement.
He’s anti-turning America into a permanent surveillance state.
Imagine this system during COVID.
Now imagine it under the next administration that doesn’t like you.
Burchett is fighting the right fight.
